Owner, Tim Howard began working in his father’s cabinet shop when he was a child, building projects as a hobby. As Tim grew and became more interested in cabinetry, he began to consider carpentry as his career. Howard began working full time upon high school graduation, designing and building custom cabinets with his father in 1986. Over the years as cabinetry technology and styles have changed, our core values will never change. As progression allowed, we realized that we cannot be all things to all people and we needed to diversify in order to remain competitive in the market place. Tim used to think that if HGI did not build it then it was not good quality… that thought changed after attending a national KBIS in Atlanta in 1988. The national show opened the eyes to the possibilities of what you can do if you go outside of the box. Then the search began to find the best manufacturers in the business that had the same values as the small custom shop. Through trial and error of trying several different manufacturers, a perfect match was found in Dura Supreme.
With 13 years experience of custom cabinetry, in March of 1999 Tim Howard began HGI Cabinetry (Howard Group Inc.), and became a Certified Dura Supreme Dealer. Since opening, HGI has continued to grow and looks to expand the current facility or relocate to better serve customers.
HGI’s current facility has a full showroom with a custom shop to service a wide range of needs and styles of custom cabinetry.
